Conceived as a contemporary family residence in Pune, this home explores the relationship between architecture and the natural elements that sustain everyday life. Guided by the principles of Water, Air and Light, the design dissolves the conventional boundaries between inside and outside, creating a living environment that is both environmentally responsive and deeply connected to nature. Water bodies, landscape and vegetation are strategically integrated to moderate the microclimate, while carefully positioned openings, double-height volumes and layered building envelopes promote natural ventilation and the movement of air throughout the home. Deep overhangs, shaded terraces and controlled glazing filter daylight, allowing light to animate the spaces without compromising thermal comfort. Rather than treating the landscape as an external feature, the architecture embraces it as an extension of daily living, framing views, encouraging outdoor occupation and creating a seamless dialogue between built form and nature. The result is a residence that transforms the fundamental elements of Water, Air and Light into an experience of healthier, more meaningful living.
